• Question: Why do you think engineering plays such an important part in… life, i guess? (i know it does, but i'd like to know why, please) :)

      Hello again cantarellia!

      Engineering plays a very important part in all our lives from vital issues such as delivering clean water systems to underdeveloped countries, to your iPhone apps!

      Without engineers we would be without a lot of essential things such as medical devices and the hospitals to use them in to make patients better.

      Without engineers we wouldn’t be able to do a lot of things we all take for granted, such as boiling a kettle, flying to go on holiday and we wouldn’t even have places like McDonalds and TGI’s. 🙁

      I think engineering plays such an important role because it is the way that we humans are able to use the rules of the world to achieve things.
      Physics, Chemistry and Biology teaches us how the universe works, it gives us all the instructions we need as to how things interact and move and bend and bubble and fizz and bang. Engineering is our way of taking these instructions and using them to make the things that nature didn’t give us.
      For example we can use the science of physics and forces to calculate how to use wood to make a bridge over a river. Nature hasn’t given us the bridge, but we have been able to work out the rules from science of how to make one ourselves using engineering.

      The other engineers have answered perfectly!!!!

      Engineering is so important to life because it is everywhere. Without healh zone engineers, doctors wouldnt have the equipment they have to image inside your body, to perform surgeries, to use a microscope to look at cells or machines to sequence our DNA!!! Engineering solves many problems that no other field of research can.
