      Hello pattersonj. 🙂 Good question.

My first ever job was serving drinks in a social club, three nights a week.
After I left school, my first real job was as a Nanny for a Professor and a Doctor. 🙂

My first job in engineering was in Quality Control in a company that made water and gas valves.

My first ever job before university was as a cinema projectionist at a small independant cinema where I grew up. I was only 16 and was able to work a few evenings during the week so it didn’t affect school. This meant I could watch loads of films for free and meant I gained a lot of experience dealing with members of the public.
My first job after university was as a spacecraft engineer working on parts of satellites. This was a really exciting job as it meant I could touch things and work on designs that would one day go into space!
