I never knew about that… I think that animal testing is important for testing the safety of drugs for humans… until we can get computers to predict drug interactions completely through computer models, animal testing is a necessary evil. However, the animals have to be treated humanely and shouldn’t be used for testing unless the testing is completely necessary.

      I didn’t know about that, that’s interesting.
I think that people should be allowed to do what they believe is right, so even if I don’t see the logic in what they are doing, it is up to them.
A lot of people are very uncomfortable about animal testing, and I would like to be able to explain to all these people the way that it is done, the ways we try to avoid it, and the reasons why it is necessary. Maybe that would help, then again, maybe not!

I only just heard about this at the weekend – I agree that animal testing is a very complicated subject and makes a lot of people quite angry. This is why the transport companies will refuse to import animals as it may affect their image to be associated with something their customers don’t agree with.
I recognise the need for animal testing but do agree that they should be treated as humanely as possible and not tested unnecessarily.
Testing cosmetic products on animals is completely unacceptable however. In my opinion animals should not be put at risk of suffering or death so that we can look more beautiful.
