• Question: if it was compulsory that you were not allowed to open a workshop in schools would you still consider making ergonomic equipment/furniture?

Hmm, I’m not sure I understand the question, baila007…

I think you might be asking what would happen if my work didn’t let me have time off to run school workshops. If that was the case I would be very disappointed as I think it is very important, not just for the students’ benefit, but for engineers’ development also, that companies engage in educational outreach

I have always been involved with going into schools and running site tours around the factory and so-on. I have been able to develop my communication skills and learned so much more about the industry from having to research the answers to tough questions.

I know my company will be very supportive of me running workshops in schools, but if they didn’t, I would still try to do as much as I could in my own time, as I really enjoy running these types of activities.
Also I would still keep up with my current job making medical equipment and hospital furniture, as I consider it a very fulfilling career and really think I’m doing something worthwhile.
