I use PC. In the engineering industry, most people use PC. For personal use people might be using macbooks. Macbooks are more expensive. In engineering computers are not only used for browsing the internet or writing assignments. Computers are used for operating and controlling big/small machines, devices. PCs are usually easy to connet to various machines, therefore they are more widely used.

In my company we use PCs, although there are some people that use Macs for other tasks such as in Marketing for creating the publicity material. There are more systems that can be used in addition to PCs and Macs – when I was at university we used a system called Sun Microsystems to perform stress analysis and run the 3D modelling software. There are advantages and disadvantages to all different systems, but as Amit says, PCs are able to connect with a lot of different devices and as more people use them around the world, it makes it a lot easier for people to learn how to use them.

I use a laptop and PC when I’m in the office.
I take my laptop home with me so that I can work from home as well. 🙂
